Yoo Ah-in Denies Evidence Destruction Allegation While Facing Crisis of The Second Arrest Warrant
Yoo Ah-in is once again on the verge of being arrested for habitually buying and taking drugs
On the morning of September 21st, Yoo Ah-in (real name Uhm Hong-sik, 37 years old) attended the pre-arrest interrogation held by Judge Yoon Jae-nam at the Seoul Central District Court.
At the interrogation, the actor said, “I’m very sorry for causing great concern”, adding “I will sincerely and honestly give all the answers I can in court”.
However, when reporters asked about the allegations of asking acquaintances to destroy evidence and forcing them to smoke marijuana, Yoo Ah-in slowly shook his head and said, “That’s not true”.
Earlier in May, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah-in on charges of administering cocaine, marijuana, and other drugs in the US with four acquaintances, but the court rejected the application.
After Yoo Ah-in’s case was handed over to the prosecution without detention, the prosecutor conducted a re-investigation for three months. Later on September 18th, they requested an arrest warrant again after finding out additional charges that Yoo Ah-in ordered his acquaintance to destroy evidence and force them to smoke marijuana with him in the US.
The final decision on whether the arrest warrant for Yoo Ah-in is issued or not will be announced later today (September 21st).
