Actor Seo In Guk revealed that he utilized his Sambaegan (eyes with 3 whites around the black orbs) as a secret weapon
Seo In Guk recently revealed about his recent movie “Project Wolf Hunting”, saying, “The story is unconventional while the characters are attractive. I had fun playing the ruthless villain Jongdu.”
On the same day, Seo In Guk said, “I have sambaegan eyes, which I believe to be a special feature. When I was young, I was scolded and hit a lot by my brothers whenever I made eye contact with them.”.
He also revealed that he used to be unfamiliar with his eyes that look rather harsh, but learned to appreciate it when he started acting.
Seo In Guk then added, “This time, I played the villain for the first time in “Project Wolf Hunting”, so I decided to utilize my eyes and emphasize more whites. I was worried, but I think it suits the character. These days, I’ve been using my sambaegan eyes as a ‘secret weapon’.”
Regarding his full body tattoo, Seo In Guk said, “This design was made after a long meeting. The tattoo on my character’s chest has a meaning. When I die, my neck disappears, so I have a tiger tattoo on my neck. Most of the tattoos resemble the Japanese Yakuza, but I also have a pattern tattoo that looks like snake scales on my neck.”
“It was very strange to me. They said that it would have taken 15 hours to draw this type of tattoo in the past. Now, it takes about 3 hours to attach all the tattoos,” the actor explained.
Seo In Guk, who said that he had no reason to hesitate if necessary for the story, did all sorts of things for his first villain role, going from full body tattoos, exposure of buttocks, to level of expression. He also shared, “It was my first exposure. I wouldn’t do it if it’s unnecessary, but it’s possible if I need it. It’s a lot of pressure, worry, and fear, but it’s a job, so it was possible.”
In addition, Seo In Guk did not hesitate to increase his weight by about 18 kg, from 68kg to 86kg while filming “Project Wolf Hunting”. Regarding this, he said, “I exercised hard. Rather than abs, I wanted to give a feeling of ‘this person is dangerous’ to anyone who sees a large body like a UFC heavyweight. I exercised while eating 6 meals and worked hard to increase my weight, but when I got a full body tattoo, the shadows made me look a little slimmer. I wanted my body to look bigger, so I was a little upset.”
“Project Wolf Hunting” is an intense survival action movie that depicts what happens during a rebellion in a huge moving prison on the sea that transports heinous criminals from the Pacific to Korea. Here, Seo In Guk takes on the role of Park Jongdu, a murderer wanted by the Interpol, who leads the rebellion.
“Project Wolf Hunting” was released on September 21st.
