Former April member Kim Chae-won, who was thought to have collapsed due to suspicion of “member bullying”, delivered surprising news
Former April member Kim Chae-won personally disclosed the result of the investigation into the “member bullying” case.
On July 7th, Kim Chae-won uploaded a post titled “Hello, this is Kim Chae-won” on her YouTube channel community.
She then revealed part of the ruling, “I would like to inform the fans who have been waiting for me through a difficult time of the investigation’s result (about the member bullying case). The final result was decided as non-transfer.”
According to the ruling, the court ruled that in the case of bullying within girl group April in the past, there were problems related to relationships within the group, but they were difficult to be judged as “bullying”.
About the isolation between the members, she continued, “Although the relevant witnesses stated that it was not true, considering that there may be differences depending on their subjective position in their viewpoint on the case, it is difficult to determine whether the issue is true or false.”
Finally, regarding “dating with the manager”, she said, “Both parties denied it. The two managers pointed out as the suspects stated that the case was not true at all. This issue is determined as a false fact.”
Kim Chae-won added, “I will take legal action up to this point. I will greet you with various activities and good music from now on because there is no lie in my position and I feel proud without any shame.”
Previously, it was revealed in February last year that former April member Lee Hyun-joo made an extreme attempt after being bullied during group activities. The agency issued an official position denying her disclosure. However, after the controversy arose, some members, including Lee Na-eun, dropped out of a number of commercials and dramas as well as stopped all activities.
Later on January 28th, April’s agency DSP Media announced the group’s disbandment through their official website, “After considerations and long discussions, the members and our company decided to disband the group and walk on our own paths.”
