CG (Computer Graphics) processing scenes in “Twenty-five Twenty-one” have been unveiled, drawing keen attention from netizens.
On April 13th, tvN’s “Twenty-five Twenty-one” uploaded on its official SNS account a video titled, “☆Amazing CG scenes☆ A summary of CG process in ‘Twenty-five Twenty-one’ that no one could have expected”.
The released video included CG scenes in the drama “Twenty-five Twenty-one”. This drama used CG to change the season and set the modern streets back to how they should look in the 1990s. In addition, fans were surprised to know the production team used effects to create cherry blossoms and the first snow for the sweet moments of Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) and Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk).
However, the reactions of Internet users were quite negative. They commented, “I was so mad at the ending. What’s with these CG scenes compilation?”, “I didn’t expect you would upload a video just to prove you’ve worked hard on CG”, “I hope you would post some making videos”, etc.
On the other hand, there were also some positive comments, such as, “I like this scene”, “I didn’t know they had used CG this much”, “Looking at this, I think the actors had worked so hard on their acting”, “I still can’t forget BaekDo Couple! I cannot let go of them”, “This kind of behind footage is so interesting”, “CG staff must have worked hard. So amazing”, etc.
tvN’s drama “Twenty-five Twenty-one” tells about the wandering and growth of young people who lost their dreams due to the IMF crisis in 1998. In particular, Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri), a promising fencing athlete, and Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), the eldest son of a wealthy family that went bankrupt due to the IMF crisis, received huge love from the viewers with their process of loving and relying on each other.
However, the ending in the final episode in which Hee-do and Ye-jin decided to break up and part ways made the audience feel bad for a beautiful love story. Some expressed disappointment because they were so in love with the two, who acted as hope and motivation for each other. In addition, the drama continued to be criticized for using the September 11 attacks in the U.S as material to portray the relationship between the two characters.
“Twenty-five Twenty-one”, in which young actors such as Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Tae-ri, Kim Ji-yeon (WJSN Bona), Choi Hyun-wook and Lee Joo-myung shone with their passionate performances, ended on April 3rd.
