Nam Joo-hyuk and Kim Tae-ri walk their own path in the final episode of “Twenty-five Twenty-one”
First love can become a great memory. Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk buried their feelings for each other in their hearts and walked their own paths.
In the final episode of tvN’s “Twenty-five, Twenty-one,” which aired on April 3rd, a new start for Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk) and Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) was depicted.
After breaking up with Yi-jin, Hee-do was so shocked that she was hospitalized. Yi-jin also had a hard time and shed tears whenever dreaming of Hee-do.
Yi-jin settled as an anchor. One day when he was preparing to leave his room full of memories with Hee-do, her diary appeared in front of him. It contained Hee-do’s love for Yi-jin.
Yi-jin met Hee-do ahead of his trip to the U.S., and said, “Don’t get sick, don’t get hurt.” Hee-do said, “You too. Don’t depend too much on alcohol. If you’re having a hard time, get a consultation. I heard that things like that are well-operated in America.” Yi-jin held Hee-do in his arms, shed tears, saying “Let’s not get troubled.”
Seven years later, Yi-jin became the main anchor with Jae-kyung’s recommendation and Hee-do considered retiring ahead of the Olympics.
Hee-do then reunited with Yu-rim (Bona) and Ji-woong (Choi Hyun-wook) at a funeral. Hee-do was married, while Yurim and Jiwoong were also preparing to get married.
Seung-wan (Lee Joo-myung) told the news of Ji-woong, who became a successful businessman, and Yu-rim, who opened a fencing class, to Yi-jin, who belatedly visited the funeral hall. She then asked him harshly, “Do I have to tell you about your ex-girlfriend?”. Yi-jin smiled awkwardly and said, “I’ll watch it on the news”.
When Seung-wan said, “Sometimes I really miss when we had fun together a long time ago. Of course, you had such a hard time cleaning up the messes of kids like us who didn’t know anything back then”, Yi-jin replied, “I liked you all. You guys caused so much trouble and bothered me, but also made me forget about my depression. When I was with you guys, I forget about everything else”.
Meanwhile, Hee-do won the gold medal at her last Olympics. Yi-jin personally conducted an interview with Hee-do, and the two asked each other how they were doing while being emotional.
When asked, “What was the most honorable thing for you in your whole career as an athlete?”, Hee-do, who later decided to retire, answered, “It was being Ko Yu-rim’s rival”. Yu-rim, who just came to the interview, gave Hee-do a bouquet and replied, “Me, too. Hee-do ah”.
Hee-do’s diary in which she wrote all her sincere thoughts only found its owner after more than a decade. The diary contained Hee-do’s confession, “I loved you with you my heart. Goodbye, Baek Yi-jin”, and also Yi-jin’s confession, “Goodbye, Na Hee-do”.
The scene in which Hee-do accepted her new life when looking at Yi-jin, who was leaving, from behind his back was shown, and “Twenty-five, Twenty-one” came to an end.
After “Twenty-five, Twenty-one” ended, “Our Blues” starring Lee Byung-hun, Shin Min-ah, Lee Jung-won, Cha Seung-won, Han Ji-min, and Kim Woo-bin will be aired.
