Kyeon Mi Ri’s side told Joy News 24 on April 14th, “It’s right that the owner of Coexistence Empathy Foundation is CEO Lee Geum Joo, and Kyeon Mi Ri’s family is just a supporter.”
They added, “The trademark rights of ‘Mi Ri laundry’ and ‘Mi Ri sharing center’ were also donated for good purposes to Coexistence Empathy Foundation. We ask you to refrain from any further unnecessary speculation.”
Earlier, Kyeon Mi Ri announced that Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In’s wedding congratulatory money would be donated to the Korea Information Association for the Disabled and Coexistence Empathy Foundation.
However, some raised suspicions that the laundromat operated by Coexistence Empathy Foundation was related to Kyeon Mi Ri as it is called “Mi Ri laundry”.
In addition, Ten Asia reported on the same day that Kyeon Mi Ri’s family owns the trademark rights of “Mi Ri laundry” and “Mi Ri sharing center” operated by Coexistence Empathy Foundation. According to the report, the trademark rights application dates for “Mi Ri laundry” and “Mi Ri sharing center” were in July and October 2022, respectively, and the applicant is “Deodaeun Co., Ltd.”. Deodaeun is a family company with Kyeon Mi Ri’s son Lee Ki Baek as its CEO and Kyeon Mi Ri as its executive director.
