Fans suspected that EXO Sehun is being mistreated by SM over severe lack of promotions
EXO Sehun not being listed among the lineup of SMTOWN LIVE 2022 is enraging fans.
Recently, SM Entertainment announced their SMTOWN LIVE event, which will be held on August 20th, 2022. The last SMTOWN Live event, “SM TOWN Live World Tour VI”, was held 5 years ago, and gathered 61 artists within just one night. Therefore, many fans are awaiting the return of the event, and expect to see fun interactions between SM idols.
However, as SM Entertainment revealed the full lineup of SMTOWN LIVE 2022 on July 12th, fans of EXO were displeased. In particular, the event was announced to include many SM artists, from SNSD, BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, and members from famous groups… but EXO Sehun was completely missing.
As can be seen, Suho, Xiumin, Chen, D.O, and Kai of EXO are all attending the event, while Baekhyun and Chanyeol are unavailable due to their military services. In the case of SHINee, Onew opts to not attend due to conflicting schedules, and all other missing names have convincing reasons for their absence. All except Sehun.

As a result, immediately after the lineup reveal, numerous EXO-Ls (fans of EXO) took to SNS platform Twitter, where they expressed their displease at SM Entertainment. According to them, Sehun has finished his acting project, just finished his concert, and is leading a successful solo career, so there’s no reason to exclude him from the event.
This leads to many Kpop fans suspecting that SM Entertainment is mistreating Sehun, while various fans pointed out that this is far from the first case of mistreatment.

In recent years, Sehun has been active as models and actors, so fans are highly anticipating the return of idol Sehun. However, their wishes were thwarted, leading to many trending on Twitter hashtags like #SM_TreatSehunBetter, #SEHUN_DESERVES_BETTER, and other related keywords.
On the other hand, some claim that Sehun’s absence from SMTOWN LIVE 2022 may have to do with his filming schedule for the upcoming project “Barbie”. However, this news is not yet confirmed, and many have been waiting for an official explanation from SM Entertainment.
