Famous girl group IVE (Ahn Yu Jin, Ga Eul, Rei, Jang Won Young, Liz, Leeseo) has topped the Tiktok chart.
According to Starship Entertainment on December 8th, with their title song “Love Dive”, IVE took first place on the 2022 “TikTok Playlist”, which was announced by the short video platform TikTok on December 7th.
This “TikTok Playlist” consists of the most used sound within TikTok in Korea this year, and the fact that “Love Dive” ranked first proves IVE’s high popularity on this platform.
“Love Dive”, which boasts an intensely addictive choreography with its “Mirror Dance” and “Diving Dance”, enjoyed huge popularity. Within a week of the song release, videos with the hashtag #LOVEDIVE exceeded 200 million views, took over the so-called “Playground Chart”, and began to spread like a trend among teenagers.
Even though it has been about 7 months since promotions for “Love Dive” concluded, new videos using the song as a sound source on TikTok constantly increase, even surpassing 2.39 million videos.
“Love Dive”, which is receiving a lot of love on TikTok, has shown a steady rise and is still staying at the top of major domestic charts. It has also set a record of winning a total of 10 music cups, 4 of which were won outside of the official promotion period.
With “Love Dive”, IVE won the Daesangs (Grand Prizes) “Best Song of the Year” at the 2022 MMA (Melon Music Awards) and “Song of the Year” at the 2022 MAMA AWARDS, making the girl group secured 2 Daesangs within the first year of their debut.
IVE, who is proving their popularity by sweeping the year-end charts, ends the year with a variety of activities. The group will appear at the 2022 KBS Gayo Daejeon on December 16th, and at the SBS Gayo Daejeon on December 24th.
