Bang Si-hyuk Took Photos With All HYBE Artists Except For NewJeans?
Netizens re-examined Bang Si-hyuk’s photos with artists from different labels of HYBE following Min Hee-jin’s press conference
During the emergency press conference on April 25th, CEO Min Hee-jin denied the accusation of ADOR attempting to take over management rights. She stated, “HYBE told me to not promote NewJeans until LE SSERAFIM’s debut”.
HYBE is operated under a multi-label system. NewJeans belongs to ADOR, while LE SSERAFIM is under Source Music and ILLIT, the group accused of copying NewJeans by Min Hee-jin, is managed by Belift Lab.
Min Hee-jin claimed that HYBE originally planned to debut NewJeans as “HYBE’s first girl group” in collaboration with her and used that excuse to recruit NewJeans members and persuade their parents. However, HYBE eventually introduced LE SSERAFIM before NewJeans and even prevented HYBE executives from promoting NewJeans before LE SSERAFIM’s debut.
CEO Min emphasized, “HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk didn’t even congratulate NewJeans when they debuted. When NewJeans entered the Billboard Main Single Chart ‘HOT 100’ for the first time, he sent me a message, asking ‘Are you having fun?’”, then disclosed the content of her Kakaotalk conversation with Bang Si-hyuk.
After the press conference, netizens flocked to Bang Si-hyuk’s Instagram account and looked through his feed again.
As such, fans pointed out that Bang Si-hyuk has been posting photos taken with all artists from HYBE labels except for NewJeans. In particular, HYBE artists that appeared on Bang Si-hyuk’s SNS account are TXT, LE SSERAFIM, Enhypen, BTS, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, &Team and Zico.
NewJeans and BOYNEXTDOOR, the boy group produced by Zico that debuted in May last year, are the artists that haven’t appeared on Bang Si-hyuk’s account.
In response, some netizens commented, “Zico took a photo with him on behalf of BOYNEXTDOOR, but there’s no picture of NewJeans”, “I guess NewJeans members must have felt so upset”, “That’s too much. NewJeans became so successful but he did not even take a photo with them”, etc.
On the other hand, some others reacted, “There’s no BOYNEXTDOOR too. I think taking photos does not mean anything”, etc.
