Girl group NewJeans has been crowned the winner for “Top Global K-Pop Artist” at the 2023 BBMAs
At the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (2023 BBMAs), which was held in Las Vegas at 10AM on November 20 (Korean time), girl group NewJeans was announced as the winner of the Top Global K-Pop Artist Award category.
After expressing gratitude as a group, Hanni said, “To have been nominated in this category with such incredible artists we all look up to is an honor itself. We are so grateful for this opportunity to perform at the ‘Billboard Music Awards.'”
Minji stated, “This award will be a reminder to us of all the love and support we have received from our fans, Bunnies. We will try our hardest everyday to make it up for fans.”
Gratitude was also expressed to their agency, ADOR, as Danielle said, “First and foremost, we would like to thank our company ADOR, our families, and everyone who has helped us behind the scenes, especially our producer Min Hee-jin.”
Hyein then expressed gratitude to the members, saying, “Also, thank you to our members. We are always looking for one another, inspiring, helping, but above all, forming this unbreakable friendship.”
Finally, Haerin said, “And last but not least, our Bunnies. Words cannot convey how grateful we are, and we hope that someday, we can bring you as much happiness as you have given us.”
On this day, NewJeans not only won an award but also performed at the ‘BBMAs’ for the first time since their debut. They showcased performances of “Super Shy” and “OMG”, which entered the “Billboard Hot 100” chart this year.
