A famous model for a men’s magazine sentenced to prison on drug charges

A model for a men’s magazine received a prison sentence and was arrested in court on charges of illegally storing and administering drugs.

According to Yonhap News on May 26th, judge Park Seol-ah of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced A, who was indicted without detention for violating the Narcotics Control Act., to 8 months in prison. A, a man in his 30s who is known to be a model for a men’s magazine, was arrested in court after hearing the sentence ruling.

A was accused of administering ketamine, a kind of illegal drug, at his acquaintance’s house and hotels four times from October to December 2020. As a result of the investigation, ketamine and related items were also found in A’s house, however, traits of drugs were not detected in A’s hair and urine.

Korean model drug charge

In the court, A admitted to storing ketamine but denied the allegation of using drugs. In response, the court said “It has been found out that the defendant took ketamine habitually but he denied the crime by making unconvincing statements in front of the investigative agency and the court”, then announced the prison sentence for A and arrested A right in court.

In fact, this is not the first drug-related incident this month. According to the police on May 19th, B – a woman in her 30s was arrested urgently on charges of violating the Drug Control Act. on the street in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu.

On the evening of May 14th, B called 119, saying “I’m sick”. When the firefighters arrived at the scene, B directly reported that she had taken drugs. After undergoing a simple drug reagent test, B was arrested as she was confirmed positive for methamphetamine.
