“Wonderful World” Kim Nam-joo and Cha Eun-woo’s meeting, how was the script reading?

MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Wonderful World” (written by Kim Ji-eun/directed by Lee Seung-young, Jung Sang-hee), which is scheduled to premiere on March 1st, is about a mother who decides to pursue justice on her own when the legal system fails her following the tragic loss of her son.

The first script reading for “Wonderful World” was revealed on January 18th. The script reading featured director Lee Seung-young, writer Kim Ji-eun as well as actors Kim Nam-joo (as Eun Soo-hyun), Cha Eun-woo (as Kwon Seon-yul), Kim Kang-woo (as Kang Soo-ho), Im Se-mi (as Han Yoo-ri), Park Hyuk-kwon (as Kim Jun), Gil Hae-yeon (as Jung Myung-hee), Cha Soo-yeon (as Yoon Hye-geum), Oh Man-seok (as Kwon Ji-woong), Kang Myeong-ju (as Kim Eun-min), Jin Geon-woo (as Kang Tae-ho), Yang Hye-ji (as Hong Su-jin), Kim Woo-hyun (as Yong-gu), Lim Ji-seop (as Kwon Min-hyuk) and Lee Jun (as Kang Geon-woo).

Kim Nam-joo, returning to the small screen after 6 years, expressed high expectations, “As a mother raising two children, the profound maternal love touched my heart.” Cha Eun-woo described the drama as “a story that gives various feelings through the process of people with similar pain healing each other“, highlighting the appeal of the drama. Kim Kang-woo commented, “All I have to do is do well.” Im Se-mi conveyed her strong determination, “I’ll make a good and warm drama on set.”

Wonderful World

As the script reading delved into the story, all the actors fully immersed themselves in the powerful lines leading the intense narrative. Despite it being their first joint acting rehearsal, the actors exhibited seasoned modulation and ensemble acting, creating a tense atmosphere similar to watching an actual drama.

Kim Nam-joo takes on the role of Eun Soo-hyun, a successful and famous psychology professor and writer. The actress perfectly conveyed the emotions experienced after Eun Soo-hyun’s life takes a 180-degree turn when she loses her young son, impressing with her explosive acting skills.

Cha Eun-woo plays Kwon Seon-yul, a mysterious person who grew up in a wealthy family but lives a rough life after losing his parents due to a series of incidents. Cha Eun-woo melted into the multidimensional character Kwon Seon-yul, portraying it with delicate expressions and dialogue.
