Cha Eun Woo to play a medical school dropout alongside Kim Nam Joo in new drama “Wonderful World” 

Cha Eun Woo is expected to showcase sweet chemistry with Kim Nam Joo in “Wonderful World” scheduled for the first half of 2024.

The new drama “Wonderful World” (literal title), directed by Lee Seung Young, written by Kim Ji Eun, is an emotional healing thriller that unfolds as Eun Soo Hyun (Kim Nam Joo), who unjustly lost her young son, takes matters into her own hands to seek revenge against the perpetrator who escaped legal punishment. 

The drama brings together director Lee Seung Young, acclaimed for his immersive and stylish directing in “Tracer 1, 2” and “Voice 2,” and writer Kim Ji Eun, known for her fast-paced storytelling in “Lie After Lie” and “Cheongdam-dong Scandal.”

In the drama, Cha Eun Woo takes on the role of Kwon Sun Yul, a character who chooses a rough life even after getting accepted into medical school. Kwon Sun Yul meets Eun Soo Hyun when she is barely surviving amidst the grief of loss, and together they heal each other’s wounds, deeply intertwining their lives.

Cha Eun Woo is expected to showcase a powerful transformation through his portrayal of Kwon Sun Yul. Cha Eun Woo has starred in various dramas such as “Island,” “True Beauty,” “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung,” and “My ID is Gangnam Beauty.”

In his recent drama “Island,” he challenged the fantasy genre by portraying the character of the youngest Vatican priest. Attention is now focused on the on-screen chemistry between Cha Eun Woo and Kim Nam Joo in “Wonderful World”.

The production team of “Wonderful World” said, “Through the character of Kwon Sun Yul with an unpredictable aura behind his kind face, viewers will be able to witness Cha Eun Woo’s unique and rough charm.” 

“Wonderful World” is scheduled to start filming with the aim of airing in the first half of 2024.
