Cha Eun-woo’s Fans Are Disappointed With His Unexpectedly Small Screen Time In First Episode Of “Wonderful World” (+Spoiler)

Will we be able to see the "Face Genius" more in upcoming episodes of “Wonderful World”?

It was the first episode, but Cha Eun-woo’s fans had no choice but to be disappointed. His screen time was not as much as expected, and they had to wait to see more of Cha Eun-woo’s face.

Of course, the first episode is to build up the events where their tragic narratives begin. The process of Kim Nam-joo’s motherhood on the brink of the cliff should be convincingly portrayed to give momentum to the story afterwards, so the episode’s center was forced to focus heavily on one side. However, fans who watched the episode to see Cha Eun-woo’s acting transformation will be disappointed.

The first episode of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Wonderful World,” which aired on the 1st (Friday), depicts a shocking situation in which Eun Soo-hyun (played by Kim Nam-joo) loses her young son in an accident and falls into the abyss as a murderer overnight. As a result, the rating of the first episode of “Wonderful World” was up to 6.6%, signaling a green light for the box office success (based on data by Nielsen Korea).

Returning to the past, the story depicts the daily life of Soo-hyun as a successful professor and best-selling author. She lived with her husband Kang Su-ho (played by Kim Kang-woo), a righteous journalist, and her young son Kang Gun-woo (played by Lee Jun), and Han Yu-ri (played by Lim Se-mi), a younger sister who takes care of busy Soo-hyun like her manager.

Among them, her husband Su-ho quit his job as a journalist while covering politician Kim Joon (played by Park Hyuk-kwon). Gun-woo suddenly disappeared while playing in the yard. They searched all over the neighborhood until night to find Gun-woo, but it was no use. Eventually, Soo-hyun found Gunwoo being carried away in an ambulance while bleeding at a nearby park.

However, Gun-woo is already in critical condition after missing the golden time. Later news made a stir by saying that Gun-woo died in a car accident at a children’s protection zone, and that he missed the golden time because the perpetrator abandoned him while running away.

However, the trial went in a different direction from the justice that Soo-hyun and Su-ho had in mind. The perpetrator, Kwon Ji-woong (played by Oh Man-seok), tried to take Gun-woo to the hospital as soon as possible, but when Gun-woo couldn’t breathe anymore, he was scared and abandoned him. Now he knelt down to the gathered people and asked for sympathy. When his lawyer asked Soo-hyun, “Did you close the door firmly when you entered the house?” Soo-hyun replied, “I don’t remember well.” As a result, Soo-hyun was constantly overcome with guilt that her son might have died because of her carelessness. Eventually, the trial sentenced the perpetrator to two years and six months in prison, and the perpetrator was released. In addition, Kim Joon, the politician Su-ho was covering, was found to be related to the perpetrator, which added to the shock.

At the end of the episode, Soo-hyun found the address of the perpetrator Ji-woong on Su-ho’s phone and went to him in person to ask for an apology. Ji-woong told Soo-hyun, “I got enough money for my crime earlier,” and threw a business card over the portrait of Gun-woo, saying, “How much is it? I will take care of you morally.” Soo-hyun said, “You ruined my baby’s life, apologize straight,” holding his pants. Ji-woong pushed Soo-hyun, saying, “Hey, do you know how many businesses I’ve been involved in? Why did he get killed by my car?” and broke the portrait of Gun-woo. Suddenly, Soo-hyun found her hands covered with blood from a piece of glass.

MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Wonderful World” is a mystery drama in which Eun Soo-hyun (played by Kim Nam-joo), who personally executed the killer who killed her son, digs out the mystery secrets related to the day. The second episode will air at 9:50 p.m. today (2nd).
