At the press conferences for movies and dramas, there were some actors who couldn’t quite match the dress code. Let’s take a closer look at their awkward situations.
‘D.P 2’ press conference – Kim Sung Kyun
On July 18th, the press conference of Netflix series ‘D.P.’ Season 2 was held in Seoul.
At the event, Kim Sung Kyun drew attention with a slightly eye-catching mint-colored suit, in contrast to the other lead actors who wore dandy and formal suits.
When MC Park Kyung Rim complimented, “Your outfit is very flashy today,” Kim Sung Kyun jokingly replied, “I ended up being the only one like this again. I always fail to match the dress code,” making Koo Kyo Hwan and Son Seok Koo burst into laughter.
‘Kill Boksoon’ press conference – Koo Kyo Hwan
On March 21st, the press conference of Netflix movie ‘Kill Boksoon’ was held in Seoul.
At the event, Koo Kyo Hwan stood out in a yellow checkered jacket over a white shirt, unlike other actors who were dressed in all-black fashion.
A reporter asked Koo Kyo Hwan, “Did you receive a separate dress code today?” making the audience laugh.
Upon hearing this, MC Park Kyung Rim added, “I was actually going to ask. Are you close with Choi Woo Shik by any chance?” adding more laughter.
Koo Kyo Hwan replied, “Was there a dress code? I wanted to come out feeling good on this special day.”
‘Time to Hunt’ press conference – Choi Woo Shik
On January 31st, 2020, the press conference of Netflix movie ‘Time to Hunt’ was held in Seoul.
Choi Woo Shik wore a striking red knit, brown checkered pants, and a sky-blue jacket, unlike other lead actors who opted for all-black outfits.
Choi Woo Shik humorously apologized, “It seems like I made a mistake. I wear pretty clothes, but it seems a bit too bright.” After this, Choi Woo Shik became the original “dress code breaker” and went viral online.
‘Black Knight’ press conference – Kim Woo Bin
In May, the press conference of Netflix series ‘Black Knight’ was held in Seoul. At the event, Kim Woo Bin wore a khaki shirt, a matching color jacket, and white pants, in contrast to all other actors in all-black outfits.
MC Park Kyung Rim commented, “Do you know the Netflix dress code universe? Following Choi Woo Shik, Koo Kyo Hwan, today it’s Kim Woo Bin’s turn.”
Kim Woo Bin wittily responded, “Interestingly, I have the same stylist as Choi Woo Shik. In the morning, while fitting the clothes, I somehow thought I’d wear all black, but I tried to focus on showing the desertified Korean Peninsula,” receiving applause.
Kim Woo Bin added, “When I arrived and saw the outfit, I thought it was interesting,” making everyone laugh.
‘A Man Of Reason’ press conference – Park Sung Woong
Last month, the press conference for the movie ‘A Man Of Reason’ was held in Seoul. On this day, Park Sung Woong stood out with all-white fashion, unlike director Jung Woo Sung, who confidently pulled off a gray three-button suit, and other lead actors who opted for all-black fashion.
MC Park Kyung Rim commented on Park Sung Woong’s outfit, “The outfits have a significant meaning. Overall, it’s all black, but Park Sung Woong is presenting an all-white fashion in the center, and director Jung Woo Sung is also wearing a mix of those colors.”
She joked, “I interpret this as the director saying, ‘I will embrace the colors of all the actors,’” making the actors smile.
