Jeon Somi Excited to Host the 2023 MAMA Awards and Reflects on Last Year’s Hosting Experience
Jeon Somi, the 2023 MAMA Awards’ host, expressed her excitement
On November 8th, a media conference for the 2023 MAMA Awards (2023 MAMA) was held in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Host Jeon Somi, along with Park Chan-wook, the head of Mnet’s business department, Lee Seon-hyeong, head of the Convention Content Planning Team, Lee Yeong-joo PD, Shin Yu-seon PD, and Lee Hyeong-jin PD, attended the event.
Jeon Somi said, “The MAMA Awards has been ongoing since before I was born and is an awards ceremony that has inspired dreams for singers.”
She continued, “I am happy to be the host again this year. I believe I can do better than last year. I will give a great performance.”
She said while smiling, “When I took on the role of the host last year, it was a huge challenge for me to handle. My heart was pounding, but this year, I will lead the event more comfortably.”
The hosts for the 2023 MAMA are Park Bo-gum and Jeon Somi. Jeon Somi will be in charge of hosting the first day of Chapter 1, while Park Bo-gum, who has been one of the leading hosts since 2017, will be responsible for hosting the second day of Chapter 2.
The concept of this year’s MAMA is ‘ONE I BORN,’ symbolizing the meeting of the one and only existence ‘I’ with infinite potential and ‘MAMA,’ creating a perfect ‘One’ through positive energy.
The 2023 MAMA will be held on November 28th and 29th at Tokyo Dome in Japan.
