Jang Hyuk, stand alone after 26 years…Appear in the entertainment FA

Actor Jang Hyuk will stand alone after 26 years. He is preparing for a beautiful farewell with Sidus HQ.

According to the entertainment industry on March 1st, Jang Hyuk completed his exclusive contract with the agency Sidus HQ on February 28th. Jang Hyuk had been digging a well at Sidus HQ since his debut in 1997. Unlike numerous top stars such as Jun Ji Hyun, Jung Woo Sung, Jeon Do Yeon, Kim Hye Soo and Gong Yoo, who grew up at Sidus HQ then moved to other agencies to build their careers, Jang Hyuk had been consistently working under Sidus HQ for 26 years since his debut.

Jang Hyuk had been loyal to Sidus HQ for a long time. It is rumored that he decided not to renew the contract because former CEO Jung Hoon Tak, who discovered him during rookie days, left the company. However, Sidus HQ is said to be in a position to finalize whether to renew the contract after proceeding with Jang Hyuk’s schedule until the end as the filming of the drama “Family” starring Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra runs until March.

Jang Hyuk started his acting career after debuting through SBS’ drama “Model” in 1997. He made his face known to the public as the main character in g.o.d’s “To Mother” music video, and emerged as a star thanks to the role of a rebel in KBS 2TV’s drama “School” (1998). In 2000, he carried out singing activities under the stage name “TJ”.

Jang Hyuk enjoyed the highest popularity in 2002 as SBS’ “Successful Story of a Bright Girl”, in which he worked with Jang Na Ra, recorded a rating of over 40%. Having been active even after being discharged from the military, he enjoyed his second heyday with the role of Dae Gil in KBS 2TV’s drama “The Slave Hunters” (2010), which is considered his work of a lifetime. Jang Hyuk has also been active on the big screen through “Volcano High”, which was broadcast on MTV in the U.S., “Windstruck” and “The Flu”. Recently, he showed his “action acting master” side in action movies such as “The Swordsman”, “Tomb of the River” and “The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves to Die”.

Meanwhile, after leaving Sidus HQ, Jang Hyuk is expected to work in the form of a one-man agency instead of moving to another agency for the time being. Nevertheless, as Jang Hyuk appeared in the entertainment FA, several management companies are paying attention to his moves. This is because Jang Hyuk is a multi-player active in dramas, movies and entertainment programs, and is well-known for being loyal enough to work for a company for 26 years.

How his moves will continue is likely to draw attention from both inside and outside the entertainment industry.
