Kim Soo-hyun & Kim Ji-won’s New Drama “Queen Of Tears” Unveils Photos & Stories During Script Reading

“Queen of Tears” depicts the crisis and miraculous restart of the love between Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the third-generation chaebol who owns Queens Department Store and the daughter of the Queens Group family, and Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), the son of Yongdu-ri and prince of supermarket after three years of marriage. In addition to Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, the cast lineup includes Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, Lee Joo-bin, Kim Gap-soo, Lee Mi-sook, Jung Jin-young, Na Young-hee, Kim Jung-nan, Jeon Bae-soo, Hwang Young-hee, Kim Do-hyun, Jang Yoon-joo, etc.

On January 31st, “Queen of Tears” released photos taken at the script reading with the participation of the cast, writer Park Ji-eun, directors Kim Hee-won and Jang Young-woo. After director Jang Young-woo greeted, saying “I hope we can laugh and cry and have fun together, I hope everyone enjoys this project”, the script reading began in earnest and the actors immediately immersed themselves into their characters.

According to the production team, Kim Soo-hyun portrayed Queens Group’s legal director Baek Hyun-woo with the subtle feeling of a person who pretends to be calm on the outside but struggles with the pressure when facing chaebol in-laws through his cool voice. With her cynical tone and fierce eyes, Kim Ji-won perfectly transformed into Hong Hae-in, the director of Queens Department Store.

In particular, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won showcased their chemistry in the process of digesting the emotional changes of Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in, who sometimes whisper affection but sometimes have different opinions while working at the company. As such, many fans are looking forward to the two’s synergy and romantic story when leading the story with their eye contact and emotional lines.

Moreover, Park Sung-hoon, who appeared as investment expert Yoon Eun-seong, added a strange tension to the main couple’s romance as he formed a relationship with Queens Group. Kwak Dong-yeon and Lee Joo-bin would bring laughter to viewers with their bickering moments as Hong Hae-in’s younger brother Hong Soo-chul and his wife Chun Da-hye.

The performances of Queens family played by Kim Gap-soo, Lee Mi-sook, Jung Jin-young, Na Young-hee, and Kim Jung-nan and Yongdu-ri family played by Jeon Bae-soo, Hwang Young-hee, Kim Do-hyun and Jang Yoon-joo as they became in-laws due to Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in’s marriage also stood out. The script reading was vitalized as the Queens family showcased their fancy talks as chaebols while Yongdu-ri family added friendliness with their local dialect.

As such, the actors interpreted their characters with their own colors. Various emotions in the romance of Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in as well as the intense atmosphere between the two families living in opposite worlds filled the script reading, raising viewers’ expectations for the official broadcast.
