BoA Will be a Producer for NCT Wish, the Final Unit of NCT 

According to SM Entertainment on January 31, BoA will oversee the production of NCT WISH, who are debuting on February 21, as well as guide the members in their activities and growth.

In their official statement, SM said, “BoA, a pivotal figure who led the globalization of K-pop, will expand her activities as a producer based on the know-how, insight, and unique personality she has accumulated.”

BoA, who debuted at the age of 14 in the year 2000, enjoyed significant popularity in both Korea and Japan, pioneering the K-pop Hallyu wave. She also holds the record as the first Korean artist to enter the U.S. Billboard Main Album Chart “Billboard 200”.

In 2001, as part of SM’s localization strategy, BoA entered Japan, the world’s second-largest music market, and achieved feats like topping the Oricon chart and selling a million copies of a single album, becoming the first Korean artist to do so.

In 2004, she attended the “MTV Asia Awards” as a joint representative of Korea and Japan, receiving the “Asia’s Influential Artist Award”. Additionally, BoA made six consecutive appearances on NHK’s year-end music program “Kohaku Uta Gassen”.

BoA is taking charge of the overall production of NCT WISH’s debut single “WISH”, including music and performances. She plans to continue leading the activities and growth of the members as a producer.

NCT WISH is set to debut at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on February 21.
