UMI, who started her music career through YouTube and SoundCloud, made her debut with her first single ‘Happy Again’ in 2017. With her smooth voice, she has established a distinctive music genre called ‘Bedroom R&B,’ delivering sensual and groovy music that evokes a comfortable atmosphere and tranquil late-night emotions.
Through EPs like ‘Balance,’ ‘Love Language,’ and ‘Introspection,’ UMI has portrayed her inner self, presenting deep emotions and a mature musical identity. Her songs like ‘Remember Me,’ ‘Love Affair,’ ‘Lullaby,’ and ‘High School’ have received much love globally. In May 2022, she released her first studio album ‘Forest in the City’ and embarked on her first tour, sharing her story with fans worldwide through live performances.
UMI first visited Korea in August of last year for a solo concert, receiving enthusiastic responses from fans with her passionate live performances. In December, she surprised fans by releasing a collaboration song titled ‘wherever u r’ featuring BTS V. The song climbed to the top of the ‘Worldwide iTunes Song’ chart on the day of its release and secured the top spot on the ‘Top Songs’ chart in 89 regions on iTunes, creating much buzz.
In January of this year, UMI released the EP ‘talking to the wind,’ featuring tracks like ‘why dont we go’ and ‘SHOW ME OUT.’ She plans to visit Korea again for a solo concert, bringing new music to her fans.
