Actress Goo Hye Sun has requested that information relating to her be deleted from Wikipedia and Namuwiki.
According to Namuwiki, on July 28th Goo Hye Sun requested the deletion of posts relating to her, including the controversy over her divorce with Ahn Jae Hyun, which was documented on Namuwiki.
She requested that Namuwiki delete all related documents, saying that they “invaded her privacy and wrote false information.” Namuwiki has private all related documents as a temporary measure.
Temporary measure refers to the temporary suspension of problematic posts at the request of the person themselves or their representative. This is usually done when the published documents contain defamatory content or personal information. As a result, articles relating to Goo Hye Sun are not available on Namuwiki.
Namuwiki is an online encyclopedia that operates in a way that lets users type and edit information themselves. It’s a site with considerable influence in Korea. However, problems such as information bias, copyright issues, Infringement of Personal Rights, and false information are constantly appearing. In March 2016, Comedian Shim Hyung-rae also requested Namuwiki to stop posting information on various absurd remarks and controversies surrounding him on the grounds of defamation.
On the other hand, Goo Hye-sun and Ahn Jae Hyun got married in 2016, but in 2019 their conflict was revealed, and in the following year, after some consultation, they divorced in agreement. However, as the conflict between the two became known to the public, unfounded rumors started spreading.
