“The Law Cafe” episode 1 – Lee Seung-gi still has an unrequited love for his ex Lee Se-young? What’s the reason for their breakup?
“The Law Cafe” Lee Seung-gi confessed his unrequited love for his ex-girlfriend Lee Se-young, raising the viewers’ curiosity about the reason why the two broke up.
In the first episode of KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama “The Law Cafe” (scripted by Im Eui-jung/ directed by Lee Eun-jin), which aired on September 5th, Kim Jeong-ho (Lee Seung-gi) was seen avoiding his ex-girlfriend Kim Yu-ri (Lee Se-young) and confessing his unrequited love for her, making the viewers wonder the reason for their breakup.
On the broadcast, lawyer Kim Yu-ri planned to open a law cafe, a coffee shop for legal counseling, after resigning from her law firm. While trying to rent a building for the cafe, she had a surprise reunion with Kim Jeong-ho, who is the building owner. The two have been friends for 17 years, but Kim Yu-ri did not even know that Kim Jeong-ho had become a building owner and suspected that Kim Jeong-ho had been avoiding her.
Kim Jeong-ho then said to Kim Yu-ri, “Why did you quit your job? You think running your own business is a joke? How can you compete with others when you can’t even tell the types of coffee beans?”. He coldly continued, “That’s why there is no model for such kind of a business. If you want to conduct friendly consultation, set up a lawyer’s office and buy a good coffee machine.”
Pointing out that Kim Yu-ri’s business would obviously fail, Kim Jeong-ho refused to sign a contract with her. Kim Yu-ri said, “Does my business have something to do with you? Why are you angry when I’m the one who is having a hard time? You don’t have to worry about me”. As Kim Jeon-ho didn’t seem to be persuaded, Kim Yu-ri suspected, “You’re not acting like this because we used to date each other, right?”.
As Kim Jeong-ho denied, “Me? When did I ever do that?”, Kim Yu-ri said, “Anyway, if you really want to kick me out, let’s just go by the law”, adding “I even went to the same university as him and we had been sticking together all the time but that guy was suddenly absent from school. I thought he had some issues and naturally moved far away. It turned out that he didn’t go anywhere but he has been avoiding me”, confidently claiming that Kim Jeong-ho was trying to avoid her again.
Kim Jeong-ho and Kim Yu-ri were best friends since high school then developed into lovers after going to the same university. The two were enjoying their happy and sweet romantic relationship, then one day, Kim Jeong-ho suddenly said to Kim Yu-ri, “Let’s stop here. What we’re doing. Everything”. As Kim Yu-ri asked, “Why?”, Kim Jeong-ho said, “I just don’t want to do it anymore”. As soon as Kim Yu-ri nodded unintentionally, Kim Jeon-ho left.
Since Kim Jeong-ho couldn’t unilaterally refuse to sign the contract with Kim Yu-ri, he forced her to put the conditions that she could not follow, making Kim Yu-ri explode with anger. She angrily said, “He has always been like this. Is he crazy?”. Kim Jeong-ho suddenly confessed, “Why do I have to do this? That’s because I like her”, surprising everyone with a twist.
It was then revealed that Kim Jeong-ho still has an unrequited love for his ex-girlfriend Kim Yu-ri, hinting at the hidden past between the two. Many viewers are questioning the reason why Kim Jeong-ho decided to break up with Kim Yu-ri first.
