BTS is reportedly ranked third on the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart, “Billboard 200” this week.
According to a preview of Billboard’s latest chart on the 28th (local time), BTS album “Map of the Soul: Persona,” which topped “Billboard 200” last week, ranked third in the second week with 57,000 copies.
With the album, BTS has made history of reaching the top of “Billboard 200” for the third time in less than 11 months. Three of the four non-English-speaking albums that topped “Billboard 200” over the past year were BTS albums.
Billboard said BTS is the first group since the Beatles to have three albums on the top of “Billboard 200” within a year, and their achievement of having three straight peaks in less than 11 months is even a week faster than the Beatles’ last record.
They also pointed out that the group has achieved the top three consecutive times in the shortest period since the band Monkees in 1967.
BTS will perform at the “2019 Billboard Music Awards” at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1 with pop star Halsey, who was featured on their album’s title track “Boy With Luv”. At the awards ceremony, they are nominated for the “Top Duo/Group” and “Top Social Artist” categories for the third consecutive year.
After that, the boys will then host their stadium tour “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” in eight regions of the world, starting from Los Angeles
from May 4th to May 5th, to Chicago, New Jersey, Brazil Sao Paulo, the U.K London, France Paris, and Japan Osaka and Shizuoka.
