BLACKPINK’s Managers Left But YG Still Confirms “Contract Negotiations Are Underway”

YG Entertainment once again declined to comment on whether BLACKPINK will renew their contracts

YG Entertainment said in its third-quarter report on November 14th, “Exclusive contracts with artists are under negotiation as of the disclosure date,” adding that the final result will be announced through the disclosure of major management matters related to investment judgment in the future.

BLACKPINK, which debuted on August 8, 2016, celebrated its seventh anniversary in August, which is also when its exclusive contract expired. However, YG Entertainment has not given a definite answer on whether the group will renew its contract for two months.

Some rumors arose that only Rosé re-signed, Jennie and Jisoo set up a one-man agency, and Lisa left. Amid various rumors, YG has only expressed its position that it is “under discussion.”

Meanwhile, Lisa’s overseas manager Alice Kang, Jennie’s overseas manager Alison Chang and Korean manager Huit have all left YG.
