Director And Co-stars Praised Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won’s Talents And Personality
"Queen of Tears" topped the ratings of tvN's all-time dramas thanks to the leads Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won.
Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won are receiving praises for perfectly pulling off the roles of Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in, respectively, in the hit drama “Queen of Tears,” which ended on April 28th. From their romantic days when they fell in love with each other to their third year of marriage as a couple in crisis, they made viewers overly immersed with their realistic chemistry. Viewers and industry insiders said that if the male and female protagonists were not played by Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, this popularity would not have been possible.
Director Jang Young-woo, who directed the drama, said in a written interview on April 30th, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won made me come to truly respect and love them while working with them on this work. Both of them were 100 out of 100 in terms of acting, and they were really good in terms of attitude and personality toward other actors and staff.” He added, “They showed different chemistry, but they relied on and supplemented each other.“
Kim Gap-soo, who played Hong Man-dae, also told reporters of Kim Soo-hyun, who acted as his son-in-law in the drama, “He did well elsewhere, but he did particularly well in this drama. He were really good at acting his roles. It is not easy for young juniors to perform such complex roles.“
