Seventeen Surpasses BLACKPINK and NewJeans, Secures Top Spot in January Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted idol group brand big data from December 18, 2023, to January 18, 2024, for the analysis of idol group brand reputation big data.

The brand reputation index is an indicator created through big data analysis to find that consumers’ online habits have a significant impact on brand consumption. Through the analysis of idol group brand reputation, it is possible to measure the positive and negative evaluations of idol group brands, media interest, and the level of interest and communication from consumers. Qualitative evaluations from brand reputation monitors are also included.

The idol group brand reputation analysis integrated boy groups and girl groups in the brand category analysis, measuring consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to analyze the brand reputation index.

According to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, the rankings for idol group brand reputation in January 2024 are as follows: Seventeen, BLACKPINK, NewJeans, IVE, RIIZE, Stray Kids, aespa, BTS, (G)I-DLE, ZERØBASE ONE, TWICE, LE SSERAFIM, BABYMONSTER, THE BOYZ, B1A4, BTOB, ENHYPEN, Red Velvet, APRIL, NMIXX, NCT, Girls’ Generation, ATEEZ, TVXQ, EXO, fromis_9, HIGH KEY, BOY NEXT DOOR, ITZY, SHINee, in that order.

Chang-hwan Koo, the director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, stated, “In the January 2024 idol group brand reputation rankings, Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) recorded the first place in brand reputation,” and he added, “The Seventeen brand, which ranked first in the January 2024 idol group brand reputation, showed high results in link analysis with ‘release, appear, donate,’ and in keyword analysis, ‘Golden Disk, New Wave of Light Music, Nana Tour’ scored high. In the positive-negative ratio analysis, it recorded a positive ratio of 90.74%.”

Meanwhile, Seventeen recently won four awards, including the ‘Daesang’ in the album category, at the 38th Golden Disc Awards with MANDIRI held at the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia.
