YG’s BABYMONSTER to perform at “SUMMER SONIC” in August

YG's rookie girl group BABYMONSTER is set to step onto a stage that music fans worldwide are paying attention to

According to YG Entertainment on March 14th, BABYMONSTER will be performing at “SUMMER SONIC 2024”, scheduled to take place at ZOZO Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on August 18th.

“SUMMER SONIC” is a large-scale urban music festival in Japan where not only local top-tier artists but also global musicians participate in large numbers. Considering that BABYMONSTER has not yet begun full-fledged activities, one can imagine the exceptional anticipation towards them within the global music market.

BABYMONSTER’s debut single “BATTER UP” swept the charts, ranking first on QQ Music MV chart in China, iTunes Song charts in 21 countries and Line Music Music Video chart in Japan. Additionally, it became the first debut song released that year to enter the top 50 of the US iTunes. Subsequently, “Stuck In The Middle” received praise from global music fans for showcasing the members’ vocal abilities.

Furthermore, their appearance at “SUMMER SONIC” marks the first externally scheduled event announced for BABYMONSTER. With their first mini-album [BABYMONS7ER], to be released as a seven-member group after Ahyeon’s addition, vigorous activities are expected. This signifies the beginning of a strategy aimed at the global music market. Interest is now focused on their future activities, including domestic music broadcasts.

BABYMONSTER is composed of multinational members, including three from Korea (Ahyeon, Rami, Rora), two from Thailand (Pharita, Chiquita) and two from Japan (Ruka, Asa). Under systematic training, they have mastered Korean, English, Japanese, Thai, Chinese and more. Their first mini-album [BABYMONS7ER] is set to be released on April 1st.
