SEVENTEEN Seungkwan’s parting gift for Moonbin, “Let’s meet again someday”

Boo Seungkwan, a member of boy group SEVENTEEN, prepared a special parting gift for his friend, the late Moonbin.

Writer Lee Jung Hyun of “To You Who Resembles The Moon'” and “Uncontrollably Fluttering Heart” revealed an anecdote in which Seungkwan visited him on April 26th and said he wanted to present Moonbin with a book.

The writer said, “It was the first time I heard such a request. He said he wanted to give one of my books to a friend as a gift, but the friend was no longer here. It wasn’t strange for me to think of his name (Moonbin’s name) at that moment. Because although I’d never met him, I’d already spent a few days touching his name.

He explained that Seungkwan tried to give the last gift to the late Moonbin, “Seungkwan received a recommendation for the book from another customer. When I heard the name that would go on the first page, I realized that the book was a gift for ‘Bin’. This name didn’t disappear from my mind for days.

The writer confessed, “I signed four of the five books purchased by Seungkwan while standing. I sat down with the remaining one. After writing the name I’d been thinking about, I looked at the white paper on the first page for a long time. I rewrote the sentences I wrote while thinking of him. I’ll remember his bright smile for a long time, so I hope we can meet again someday and talk then. I’m still not good, but I hope that the words I rewrote with a trembling hand will reach you a little closer.

In the book, the writer wrote, “Let’s meet again someday, when you’ll have become a person whose pillow has never been wet, and smile together. Let’s wonder about each other like we meet for the first time and wave our hands like we saw each other yesterday, like we’ll meet again tomorrow. Be well and see you again.
