BTS RM congratulated Hwang Dae-heon for winning the gold medal.
On Feb 9th, RM posted a video through his Instagram story. The video showed Hwang Dae-heon, who won the gold medal in the men’s 1,500m short track speed skating race at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics held at Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China.
On that day, Hwang Dae-heon was the first to cross the finish line and won a valuable gold medal. Regarding this, RM expressed respect and congratulations by adding a caption saying “RESPECT”.
Earlier, Hwang Dae-heon was doubtfully disqualified in the men’s 1,000m semifinals. At the time, RM uploaded a scene of Hwang Dae-heon overtaking Chinese players through his Instagram story as well as comforted him with applause and thumb emoticons. Accordingly, Chinese netizens visited BTS’ official Instagram and covered the comment section with vomiting emoticons.
But soon, ARMYs (BTS’ fan club) around the world pulled down malicious comments with purple heart emoticons. Although RM could suffer from malicious comments again, he did not mind and sent a congratulatory message to Hwang Dae-heon.
