Singer Jo Kwon revealed an anecdote of when he got paid for the first time after debut under JYP Entertainment

On July 4th, the YouTube channel “스튜디오 매일매일” uploaded a new video showing Seo Eun-kwang visiting Jo Kwon.

Jo Kwon said, “I always have this thought every time I look at junior singers. It’s just the beginning. This moment is very new and happy. If I could go back to the past, I don’t think I can do it”.

Recalling the toughest time during his trainee days, Jo Kwon said, “I didn’t have anything and couldn’t do anything either. After making money, I can eat delicious food and do whatever I want, but during the trainee days, I didn’t have money”

When the production team asked when they were able to get paid, Seo Eun-kwang said, “Each member received 500,000 won as advance payment. I remember we were like that for 3-4 years”.

Jo Kwon commented, “I didn’t have anything like that”, expressing his unfairness. When Seo Eun-kwang said he was very proud when receiving his first salary, Jo Kwon said, “It was so sad”. He added, “When I got my first salary, it was 210,000 won after excluding all the trainee expenses”.

Jo Kwon smiled bitterly and continued, “It was my first salary after working for 3 years, and I felt very upset. I hugged my mom and cried. With that money, I went to the telecom company and paid for my cell phone fees”.
