As G-Dragon denied drug charges, netizens found the full version of the clip showing his drug addiction symptoms
On October 31st, a netizen shared a video on online communities under the title “Found the original video of G-Dragon’s neck-breaking clip”.
Earlier when the drug case broke out, netizens spread the clip rapidly on SNS, raising suspicions of drug addiction symptoms and calling G-Dragon “zombie GD”.
The short clip showed the moment when G-Dragon was spinning and breaking his neck while entering a shop. However, the longer video captured G-Dragon walking and greeting overseas fans normally before entering the shop without any unusual behaviors and then stretching his neck upon passing the entrance.
In the full video, G-Dragon did not show any symptoms of drug addiction and was only doing some simple stretches. The netizen who released the original video argued that there was nothing wrong with G-Dragon at that time because he was also seen with the same habit of stretching his body when standing in front of fans and reporters various times in the past.
In response to the video, fans reacted, “People were tricked by the edited clip?”, “GD is often seen stretching like that. If you’re a fan, you would know that very well”, “Most of the videos were edited maliciously”, etc. On the other hand, many other netizens commented, “The result will come out soon, just wait and see”.
Meanwhile, the police booked G-Dragon on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act on October 25th. They reportedly found evidence of G-Dragon’s drug use in the process of investigating an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul last month.
However, G-Dragon strongly denied the drug allegations and expressed his intention to voluntarily attend the police questioning scheduled for November 6th.
