Former member of girl group spends living expenses on luxury items to boost her husband’s self-esteem, who couldn’t make money

Former member of girl group Cats, Kim Ji-hye, revealed a story about living a frugal life due to her husband.

On the episode of MBN’s “Stress Buster” aired on the 4th, Kim Ji-hye was seen venting about the topic “Is it happy to buy luxury goods with my money for my husband?”

Kim Ji-hye tied the knot with Choi Sung-wook, a former member of boy group Paran, in 2019 after dating for two years. Choi supported Kim financially during their dating period, but now Kim is supporting him financially as he has struggled to manage his money.

Kim said, “I thought my husband was just broke, but he had no concept of money. So I thought, ‘I have to bear the responsibility.’ I told him that he didn’t need to make money for the rest of his life because I would take care of him. I said I would take care of everything, including the wedding.” She also revealed that she bought him luxury goods to boost his self-esteem and bring him back to his former self.

Choi, who had no interest in luxury goods before, became fascinated with them after Kim introduced them to him. As a result, Kim began to bear all the responsibility for their living expenses.

In fact, Kim Ji-hye and Choi Sung-wook, the married couple, had conflicts over living expenses even during their appearance on TVING’s “Between Marriage and Divorce” last year.

Kim Ji-hye explained, “At the moment when it was going to an unbearable level, we appeared on such a program and showed it all.”

Fortunately, before Choi Sung-wook bought luxury goods, he asked for permission from Kim Ji-hye after their appearance on “Between Marriage and Divorce.”

Kim Ji-hye said, “As my husband received criticism, I felt relieved and my dissatisfaction with married life disappeared. My husband hasn’t changed. I chose this person, and it seems that living with him and venting out frustrations is the best way to go.”
