Shiho explained that she had been receiving livelihood protection since last year.  She shared, “I’ve had a hard time emotionally. I thought it would be much better if I talk about it in words”, adding that she already conducted an interview with a media outlet but it has not been released.

While many people showed their support for the actress, some wrote comments criticizing her. Shiho said, “Thousands of people wrote beautiful words and supportive comments for me, but I felt hurt and heartbroken due to the hateful words from only a few people”, then asked for understanding.

Lastly, Shiho expressed regret as she felt like she couldn’t live up to fans’ expectations. She shared, “To be honest, I regret it”, then shed tears after saying, “But that’s the reality”.

Shiho Wakabayashi debuted in the entertainment industry in 1984. She became famous after starring in a 1991 drama about the daily life of a large family. In 2008, the actress decided to take a break but terminated her contract with her agency in the following year and retired from showbiz.
