Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young: 1992-born former child actresses who both shot to peak popularity at 30

Do you notice the similarities between Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young?

When it comes to same-aged former child actresses, perhaps Kim So Hyun and Kim Yoo Jung, who were born in 1999, are the most mentioned. But lately, another duo of beautiful, talented actresses who also both started out as child stars and were born in the same year, has been the center of many topics of discussion because of their growing popularity. We are talking about Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young. Not only are the two both 1992 liners, they also share many other similarities that you may not realize.

Both are former child actresses, acted together twice when they were kids

The two are same-aged friends but in the industry, Lee Se Young is actually Park Eun Bin’s senior. Lee Se Young made her debut in “The Brothers’ River” in 1997 when she was only 5 years old. A year later, Park Eun Bin appeared on the screen for the first time in “White Nights 3.98”. She was 6 at the time.

During their child actor days, Lee Se Young and Park Eun Bin became co-stars twice in 2002 and 2003. They both starred in “My Love Patzzi” and “Country Princess”. Both impressed viewers with their lovely beauty when they were little girls and showed great potential with their acting.

Both challenge themselves in a variety of roles after growing up

Moving onto their adulthoods, Park Eun Bin seemed to have a more promising start than Lee Se Young as she soon landed a lead role in the 2012 drama “Operation Proposal”, where she acted alongside another well-loved former child actor, Yoo Seung Ho. Meanwhile, it took Lee Se Young longer to be cast in a central character. She starred as lead for the first time in the 2016 drama “The Vampire Detective.”

On the other hand, Lee Se Young also reunited with Yoo Seung Ho in the 2020 drama “Memorist”, the two are the main couple of the drama. That’s another interesting thing in common between Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young.

In the adult stage, these two female stars not only work hard in acting but also try different types of character images. From 2012 to 2022, Park Eun Bin continuously received new projects. In 3 years from 2016 to 2018, she had 4 new works. During the past 10 years, Lee Se Young has also worked very hard. In 2 years 2019 and 2020, she took on the lead roles in 4 dramas.

Both have tried all kinds of roles and performed well in their roles.

Despite their efforts and hard work, both Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young had to go through difficult times. Despite appearing in many dramas with great commercial success, they still couldn’t receive the attention they deserve from the public. And in the end, luck was on their side. At the end of 2021, Lee Se Young and Park Eun Bin received 2 historical TV series, The Red Sleeve and The King’s Affection respectively. Fortunately, The Red Sleeve and The King’s Affection both achieved amazing ratings and became popular in overseas markets.

At the Baeksang Arts Awards 2022, the performance of Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young was also recognized by experts with 2 nominations for the Best Actress award, which could not be more deserving. Besides the similarities such as being the same age, and filming together when they were children, Park Eun Bin and Lee Se Young also reached the peak of their careers at the same time with the same type of movie.

Returning to the small screen in 2022, Park Eun Bin is the hottest star this summer with her great performance in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo“. This ENA cable drama is also a phenomenon in the Korean drama’s rating race when from the 0/9% rating for the first episode, it increased 10 times to more than 9.5% in episode 6. Through the role of Lee Hwi in “The King’s Affection”, Woo Young Woo has become Park Eun Bin’s new memorable role with the perfection from her expression, action to words of a genius lawyer.

One more interesting thing here is that Lee Se Young will also transform into a lawyer in her new drama returning to the small screen in 2022. At the end of August, Lee Se Young will play a beautiful lawyer with a somewhat odd personality in KBS2’s “The Law Cafe”.
