It is confirmed that singer Lee Hyo-ri will step down as “The Seasons” host and singer-rapper Zico will be in charge of the new season

On March 25th, KBS official said to OSEN, “Zico will become the new MC and replace Lee Hyo-ri in ‘The Seasons’”.

“The Seasons” is a talk show to help viewers get rid of all their worries and concerns on Friday night with various stories about music. As the first late-night music program of KBS using the annual project method, “The Seasons” has received enthusiastic responses from viewers.

Starting with Jay Park’s “Jay Park’s Drive”, the program has continued with “Choi Jung-hoon’s Night Park”, “Long Day Long Night with AKMU” and “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet”. In particular, “Red Carpet” drew keen attention as the first program hosted by top star Lee Hyo-ri ever since her debut.

However, many viewers have been expressing regrets over the departure of Lee Hyo-ri, proving the female singer’s tremendous popularity and the favorable reviews for her shows. There is a conflict between viewers’ reactions of wanting to keep watching Lee Hyo-ri and the format of “The Seasons”.

Nevertheless, the production team of “The Seasons” continued to show their strong determination. Amid the backlash over Lee Hyo-ri’s departure from “The Seasons”, KBS stated, “‘Red Carpet’ will end, but ‘The Season’ will continue with the next season hosted by a new MC”.

In the end, Zico was announced as the next MC following Lee Hyo-ri. In the last episode of “Red Carpet”, all the previous MCs of “The Season” during the past year are expected to appear and show respect for each other.

The new year for “The Seasons” hosted by Zico will release its first broadcast on April 26th. The program airs every Friday at 10 p.m.
