On the second episode of “The Idol” aired on June 12, Dyanne (BLACKPINK Jennie) revealed her true color. She dropped her innocent front and revealed her cunning self.
At first, Dyanne appeared to be a backup dancer and best friend of Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp). She stood by Jocelyn’s side through the roughest patches, such as the leak of Jocelyn’s explicit photo. However, in the second episode, Dyanne revealed herself to be a much more complex person. She has a secret relationship with Tedros (The Weeknd) and is possibly the one who pulled strings to steal the limelight from Jocelyn.
This side of herself started to come out when Jocelyn went through a nervous breakdown and had a fight with her team. At the time, the producers did not agree to Jocelyn’s decision to collaborate with her new boyfriend Tedros. Afterwards, Jocelyn struggled to focus on the shooting for the “Freak” MV completely.
At this moment, Dyanne stepped in to present herself a potential substitute. She proved to have the singing and dancing capabilities as well as appearance that are no less of Jocelyn. Nikki Katz, a high-ranking executive of the label asked Dyanne to be a “backup plan” in case Jocelyn lost control of herself.
