Viewers complain about “Omniscient Interfering View” showing more footage of celebrities than their managers

Many people are saying that “Omniscient Interfering View” is getting off track.

MBC’s “Omniscient Interfering View” is an observation entertainment program that shows celebrities’ daily lives, starting with the reports from their managers. It’s a show created to present the interesting daily routine of stars’ managers as well as their relationship with the artists. However, at some point, the appearance of managers literally became a means to highlight celebrities.

“Omniscient Interfering View” is maintaining an average viewer rating of around 4%. Since 2018, it has been aired at the ‘golden broadcasting time’ of 11 p.m. on Saturdays. Despite the stable ratings, “Omniscient Interfering View” is losing its appeal as it has started to go in the wrong direction.

It is noticeable in the February 11th broadcast that showed the eating show on Jeju Island by Lee Young Ja, Jeon Hyun Moo, Kwon Yul and Song Sung Ho. Although Song joined the team as Lee Young Ja’s manager, he was only seen eating. There were no scenes of him arranging the schedule and taking care of his artist as a manager. That episode focused on the eating show and completely ignored the daily life of the manager.

The same happened to the episode of Big Bang Taeyang and his manager Kim Kyung Rae on February 4th. Taeyang recently released the new song “VIBE” after a long time and he chose  “Omniscient Interfering View” to promote his comeback. As a result, his manager became a shadow and what the viewers saw on the broadcast was all about Taeyang, from his self-management, the lunchbox prepared by his wife Min Hyo Rin, and memories with friends in the military.

In particular, attention was naturally turned to the guest celebrities, including Big Bang Daesang, actors Joo Won and Go Kyung Pyo, who rarely appear on entertainment shows,  and their military stories.

Planning the direction is to show the identity of the program and keep the promise to the viewers. “Omniscient Interfering View” is not a show designed to promote any particular celebrity nor introduce the friendship of stars.

If the ratings continue to rise thanks to the appearance of only celebrities, will “Omniscient Interfering View” forget about the intention of their program? It’s time the production team should look back on their starting point.
