BTS V to release first solo album “Layover” today (Sep 8th), “It contains my charms as Kim Tae Hyung”
BTS member V’s first solo album “Layover” will finally be revealed today
V will release his solo album “Layover” on domestic and global music sites at 1 p.m. on September 8th (KST). Although V has proved his musicality through solo songs in BTS’s albums, self-composed songs released as free music, and drama OSTs, this is the first album to be unveiled under his name as a solo artist.
The album title “Layover” means “transferring”. It delivers the message that this is the time to take a break and look back on the past to set your final destination. Through his first solo album, V wants to reveal a new side that he has never shown since his debut.
Expressing his feelings ahead of the album release, V said, “Other members completed their solo activities so successfully, so it’s more burdensome to be the last person to make a solo debut. However, I’ll show you everything I prepared little by little”. Introducing “Layover”, he said, “It’s an album that contains my charms as Kim Tae Hyung, an ordinary person”, adding “I can say this album is different, surprising, and relaxing”.
Based on the pop R&B genre, “Layover” contains V’s characteristics and emotions. It has a total of six songs, including the title track “Slow Dancing”, the pre-release track “Rainy Days”, Love Me Again”, “Blue”, “For Us” and the bonus track “Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)”.
In particular, Min Hee Jin, CEO and executive producer of ADOR, participated in all steps of the production, including music, choreography, design, and promotion. Producer Min Hee Jin tried to combine V’s simple and natural charms with his music in order to complete an album focusing on “V” and “Music”.
V produced a total of five music videos for his solo debut, and already released “Rainy Days” and “Love Me Again” music videos ahead of the album release. “Love Me Again” MV features a mysterious vibe highlighted by V’s dreamy voice tone, while “Rainy Days” MV shows a normal day of V.
The teaser for “Blue” with black-and-white scenes has also been released. V’s serious look in the video raises fans’ expectations for the full version. At midnight on the 8th, V unveiled the teaser for the title song “Slow Dancing” filmed on the beach in Spain. It shows V enjoying swimming leisurely in the sea. The full music video will be available on the YouTube channel of HYBE Labels at 1 p.m. on the 8th.
V has been arousing fans’ interest in his solo album by introducing 102 concept photos and various YouTube contents. He is expected to appear on domestic music shows and present the performance of “Slow Dancing”.
