“Unluckiest” Female Actress of Early 2024: Losing Roles, Told to “Go Die”?
A female actress has suffered from numerous unfortunate events within January, making her the “unluckiest” of early 2024.
Despite January 2024 not yet being over, the Chinese entertainment industry has already experienced numerous controversies. Among them, actress Zhu Xudan can be considered the unluckiest as she consecutively faced public criticism, even losing roles in projects she had planned to participate in.
Specifically, according to Chinese media Sina, Zhu Xudan was originally cast as the female lead in the drama “Flower in the Mirror” alongside co-star Zheng Yecheng. The drama was scheduled to start filming on January 25, but as of now, there has been no sign of any progress. The project has been indefinitely postponed, with rumors circulating about the replacement of the main cast. This implies that Zhu Xudan is at risk of losing her role in “Flower in the Mirror.”
Prior to this, Zhu Xudan had a conflict with the screenwriter Yu Zheng when she left the project “Five Blessings” at the last minute for the lead role in “Flower in the Mirror,” upsetting Yu Zheng.
The screenwriter criticized Zhu Xudan several times, even saying, “Anyone who doesn’t act in my projects can go die” at the commencement ceremony. Now, Zhu Xudan is believed to have lost both projects.
Not only that, Zhu Xudan still had another project titled “A Dream Within a Dream.” However, despite initially being set to play the lead role, she lost this opportunity as well. Currently, this new drama has almost confirmed Liu Yuning and Yang Chaoyue (replacing Li Yitong, as previously announced) as the main cast.
This information has left the audience in a state of both laughter and tears. From refusing to play a supporting role in “Five Blessings” to having her junior Lu Yuxiao take on the lead, Zhu Xudan has encountered a series of unfortunate mistakes and regrettable consequences.
Now, she is forced to support the “disastrous” couple composed of Liu Yuning, crowned as the “worst-looking male actor of 2023,” and Yang Chaoyue, who is called a “long-standing acting disaster.”
At present, everyone hopes that the project “A Dream Within a Dream” will proceed smoothly; otherwise, it will truly be the “three disasters” for Zhu Xudan.
