On December 30, the 2023 APAN Star Awards was held in Seoul, where it honored dramas and actors in works aired on terrestrial, cable, OTT, and web platforms from August 2022 to October 2023.
Here, Uhm Jung-hwa, who experienced a resurgence with the drama “Dr. Cha”, celebrated the end of 2023 by receiving the Best Actress award in the mid-length drama category.
Upon receiving the award, Uhm Jung-hwa expressed, “I am happy to receive such a wonderful award. I want to share this joy with the ‘Dr. Cha’ team”, and thanked all the cast members, writers, and staff.
“While filming ‘Dr. Cha’, I received a lot of support, comfort, and empathy, making me very happy. Perhaps the most important things in our lives are such support, empathy, understanding, and a helping hand. Today, I pray that we will always have such wonderful strength together, and I hope all the actors will continue to grow wonderfully with great works. Congratulations and thank you so much”, she added.
In 2023, Uhm Jung-hwa received warm love for her active activities as both an actor and a singer. First, she took on the lead role in the drama “Dr. Cha”, adding her own loveliness to the role, and received support and praise from many viewers, breaking the all-time JTBC drama viewership rankings.
Not only that, but she also made a return as a singer in the variety show “Dancing Queens on the Road”, showcasing the power of “Diva Uhm Jung-hwa”. In December, she held a solo concert in three cities—Seoul, Daegu, and Busan— for the 1st time after 24 years, proving her popularity as an all-rounder throughout 2023.
