TWICE’s Jihyo appeared at MBC Entertainment Awards “I didn’t expect this day to come, ONCEs must have been surprised”

Jihyo appeared at the “2023 MBC Entertainment Awards” held at MBC Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on Dec 29th.

Although Jihyo was nominated for the Rookie Award, the possibility of winning was not very high. Moreover, she had just returned from the group’s world tour 2 days ago and willingly showed up at the awards ceremony amidst her busy schedule, surprising fans.

Jihyo later had a communication session with fans, saying, “ONCEs must have been surprised today. I wondered if I would ever go to an entertainment awards ceremony in my life and decided to give it a try.”

She continued “It was so much fun. It felt like entering the TV“, providing fans with a delightfully modest review of her attendance at the awards ceremony, unlike a typical world star.

In contrast to some celebrities who choose not to attend year-end award ceremonies if they are not receiving an award, Jihyo’s genuine enjoyment of the event received applause from fans.

Meanwhile, Jihyo was one of the nominees for the Female Rookie Award, alongside Kwon Eun-bi, Sullyoon, Lee Eun-ji and Pungja. However, the trophy ultimately went to Pungja.
