TWICE’s fandom is in uproar following the announcement that member Dahyun will be absent from the second leg of the group’s North American tour due to a fracture.
The official statement confirmed that Dahyun will not participate in upcoming concerts starting this weekend, citing a broken bone as the reason. However, what has truly ignited fans’ anger is not just the injury itself—but how it was allegedly handled.

“She Endured the Pain for a Month”
According to fan accounts and messages reportedly shared via Bubble, Dahyun had been complaining of pain since the beginning of TWICE’s U.S. tour in early January.
Despite ongoing discomfort, it appears she was not immediately sent to a hospital for thorough examination or imaging tests. Instead, she reportedly received acupuncture treatment at a Korean traditional medicine clinic in the U.S., but her condition did not improve.
Throughout the month-long tour, Dahyun continued to perform—often seated at the corner of the stage, visibly limping and unable to fully participate in choreography.
It was only after returning to Korea for a proper medical checkup that doctors discovered she had been performing with a fracture.

The revelation has left fans questioning why a more comprehensive medical evaluation was not conducted earlier.
TWICE members have frequently faced health-related hiatuses over the years due to intense schedules. Several members have previously paused activities mid-tour due to anxiety, fatigue, or physical injuries.
However, this case has triggered stronger backlash, as fans believe basic medical care may have been neglected.
Anger toward JYP Entertainment quickly flooded online forums. Here are some translated reactions from Korean netizens:
- “What on earth are JYP staff even doing? What is wrong with them?”
- “If the members are making that much money for the company, at least take proper care of them.”
- “I’m not even a fan of this group, but reading this makes me furious.”
- “Fractures hurt so much… ㅠㅠㅜㅜ”
- “Fans have every right to be angry. The schedule is packed, members keep getting sick one after another—it clearly shows health management is lacking.”
- “Oh my god ㅠㅠㅠ She had a broken bone and endured it for almost a month without even getting a cast? Please value TWICE.”
- “Are there no hospitals in the U.S.? Why was she only taken to an acupuncture clinic???”
- “So they didn’t even know it was a fracture at all…?”
- “If she had to sit during performances, they should have announced it earlier and sent her back to Korea for a thorough check. I initially thought it was a minor injury since she could still dance—that’s why they found out late. But apparently not.”
- “Instead of booking one large stadium show, they rented smaller venues and made the artists rotate 3–4 shows. From the start, this company never seemed to care about their health. What a terrible company.”

The controversy has reignited long-standing discussions about the physical toll of K-pop touring schedules. As global tours grow larger and more frequent, fans are increasingly demanding transparent medical protocols and better health safeguards for artists.
At the time of writing, JYP Entertainment has not provided further clarification beyond the initial announcement. Meanwhile, fans continue to call for accountability—and for Dahyun to prioritize her recovery above all else.
