On March 25, JYP Entertainment announced that Dahyun would suspend activities to focus on recovery. The agency stated, “After careful discussion regarding the artist’s condition and participation in performances, we concluded that rest and recovery must come first.”

Dahyun had reportedly been experiencing discomfort since the early stages of TWICE’s North American tour. Despite continuing treatment, a detailed examination after returning to Korea revealed a fractured ankle, prompting a full halt to activities. As a result, the group’s remaining world tour, spanning 9 countries and 17 cities, is expected to proceed with 8 members for the time being.

On March 26, JYP Entertainment also released an official statement announcing that Chaeyoung experienced unexpected discomfort in her lower back while preparing to depart overseas. Medical evaluation was deemed necessary, leading to the immediate postponement of her travel plans.

As a result, Chaeyoung did not leave the country with the rest of the members and will remain in Korea to undergo examination and receive treatment. The agency stated that her departure will be rescheduled once her recovery progress is carefully assessed. This update comes just one day after Dahyun was confirmed to suspend activities due to an ankle fracture, further intensifying concerns among fans about the members’ health.

Chaeyoung’s and Dahyun’s injuries have intensified concerns among fans, as they add to a history of health-related interruptions involving other members. Mina previously took a hiatus during the group’s 2019 world tour due to sudden anxiety symptoms related to performing on stage.

Similarly, Jeongyeon has faced ongoing health challenges, including a herniated disc, panic disorder, and anxiety, leading to multiple pauses in her activities over the years. With Dahyun and Chaeyoung now sidelined, fans are once again expressing concern that the group’s demanding schedule may be taking a toll on members’ health.

The absence of Dahyun and Chaeyoung means TWICE will temporarily promote without a full nine-member lineup, something fans have long hoped to see consistently. JYP Entertainment apologized, stating, “We sincerely apologize for continuing to deliver disappointing news to fans who have been waiting for TWICE’s full-group performances.”

Although Dahyun and Chaeyoung reportedly had strong determination to continue performing, both they and the agency ultimately prioritized long-term health over immediate schedules.
