Taiwanese media has reported that TWICE‘s Tzuyu may be preparing for a new chapter in her career by ending her individual exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment and launching solo activities in Taiwan.
According to reports published on July 15 by Taiwanese outlets including China Times, multiple industry sources claim that Tzuyu is unlikely to renew her individual management contract with JYP. Instead, she is reportedly expected to pursue solo projects through Yuhai Entertainment, a Taiwanese agency established by her parents.

The reports state that Yuhai Entertainment was founded in November 2025. The company is registered to operate across 22 business categories, including concert planning, music production and distribution, advertising, and artist management. Its registered address is reportedly the same location as a café operated by Tzuyu’s mother. Local media have speculated that the company’s creation was intended to support Tzuyu’s future independent activities.
Additional details have fueled the speculation. Earlier this month, Tzuyu performed a solo stage at the Kaohsiung Beer Rock Festival in Taiwan. According to local reports, no JYP Entertainment manager accompanied her to the event, and promotional materials reportedly introduced her under her birth name, Chou Tzuyu, rather than “TWICE’s Tzuyu.”
Media outlets have also revisited Tzuyu’s previous visit to Taiwan last year, during which she was reportedly seen meeting Chen Ze-shan, a veteran music producer and former head of Warner Music Greater China. Chen was also said to have assisted behind the scenes at Tzuyu’s recent event, prompting speculation that he could play a role in her future solo career.
However, the reports remain based on anonymous industry sources. Neither JYP Entertainment nor Tzuyu has issued an official statement regarding the claims.

Tzuyu has long been one of Taiwan’s most prominent entertainment figures. In 2015, she became the center of controversy after appearing on a Korean television program holding the Taiwanese flag, which sparked accusations from some Chinese netizens that she supported Taiwanese independence. She later released a public apology video, an incident that drew widespread attention and even carried political implications in Taiwan.
The latest reports have generated mixed reactions among fans. Many believe Tzuyu could continue balancing solo activities with her commitments as a member of TWICE, while others stress that any conclusions should be reserved until an official announcement is made. Comments online include, “She can promote individually while staying with TWICE,” “I hope the group continues together,” and “It’s still only speculation, so we should wait for confirmation.”
