Initially, the Wonder Girls started as a five-member group, Sunye, Hyuna, Sohee, Sunmi, and Yeeun. Soon after, however, Hyuna left the group due to health problems, leading to the addition of Yubin.

The group continued their activities even after constant member changes, but Hyerim was put in as a new member in 2010, when Sunmi announced the suspension of her activities during Wonder Girls’ promotion in the U.S.

In particular, Sunye appeared on Channel A’s “Oh Eun Young’s Golden Counseling Center” on September 2nd, and shared, “My father and grandfather passed away while we were on the road to success. Even if we became more famous and rich, the emptiness inside of me didn’t seem to be filled. I thought it was time to take a break.”

Sunye continued, “I wouldn’t have given up on Wonder Girls now. Why would I abandon Wonder Girls? I just wanted to tell you that it wasn’t like what many people thought. I’m sorry for hurting you unintentionally.”
