In episode 11 of Jun Hyun-moo’s Plan 3, aired on December 26th, Jun Hyun-moo and KwakTube (Kwak Jun-bin) teamed up with their “food buddy” Hyoyeon for a culinary trip through hidden local eateries in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. From a regulars-only sashimi spot with no signboard or menu, to fire-grilled squid and chicken bulgogi, and even an unexpected restaurant specializing in raw monkfish, the trio went all in on unconventional food discoveries.

Arriving in Gyeongju, a city packed with sights, activities, and food, Jun Hyun-moo declared confidently, “We don’t go to ordinary hotspots. From the very first stop, we’re hitting top-tier unique restaurants.” At a place that didn’t even appear in portal searches and had neither a sign nor a menu the owner initially refused filming, saying they only accepted regulars. Jun Hyun-moo broke through with a bold request: “Just think of us as regulars and give us anything,” ultimately securing permission to shoot.

Before the mukbang began, Jun Hyun-moo mixed doenjang, sesame oil, garlic, chili peppers, wasabi, and cho-gochujang to create what he called an “MZ sauce,” instantly heating up the mood. Tasting the flatfish, striped beakfish, and flounder sashimi, KwakTube exclaimed, “I never expected sashimi in Gyeongju,” while Jun Hyun-moo boasted, “This is how we catch people off guard,” with trademark confidence.

After warming up with a “morning sashimi,” the duo met up with Hyoyeon and headed to the next restaurant. In a quiet neighborhood far from tourist areas, they were shocked to find 12 teams already waiting in line. When the fire-grilled squid and chicken bulgogi finally arrived, all three couldn’t hide their delight, praising the intense charcoal aroma.

During the meal, Hyoyeon shared updates on her career, saying, “Last year, I went on two DJ tours in the Americas. I perform under the name DJ HYO.” She added a humorous anecdote: “In France, people find ‘Hyo’ hard to pronounce, so they kept calling me ‘Yo-nyeon, Yo-nyeon.’ At first, I didn’t even realize they were calling me.”

While heading to the next spot, KwakTube bluntly asked, “Isn’t Girls’ Generation famous for being the only late-30s girl group where no one’s married yet?” Hyoyeon replied honestly, “Everyone’s just been so busy,” adding, “But somehow, I feel like I’ll get married soon. I do have dreams about marriage.”

At the raw monkfish specialty restaurant, the group enjoyed generous portions of boiled and braised monkfish, showering the food with praise. There, Hyoyeon asked newlywed KwakTube about his plans for children, and he shyly replied, “Soon,” drawing laughter. Jun Hyun-moo jumped in, teasing, “I heard Hyoyeon’s goal is to become a ‘birth influencer.’”

The marriage talk only intensified. When Jun Hyun-moo asked what age she wanted to get married, Hyoyeon answered, “I think I should do it before 39. What do you think?” Caught off guard, Jun Hyun-moo hesitated before offering some realistic advice: “Once the first digit changes to four, the impact is big. It’s better to take care of it while there’s still a three in front.” The two even made a playful bet about who would get married first.

The conversation then shifted to money. KwakTube asked, “When Girls’ Generation members meet up, who pays the bill?” Jun Hyun-moo teased, “Hyoyeon does. She earns the most.” Hyoyeon laughed it off, saying, “I think Yoona and Taeyeon probably earn more than I do. We usually meet on birthdays or special occasions, and whoever suggested meeting pays. We all try to pay for each other.”

When asked if the members ever fought, Hyoyeon replied, “We’re considerate of each other, like a long-term couple. In the early days, we were too busy to fight. Back then, after schedules, we’d come back to the dorm and hang out together like it was an MT trip.” She also shared a touching story about their bond: “When Yoona was busy filming dramas and only slept two or three hours, we’d still be awake waiting. Seeing us seemed to give her strength again.” Her words highlighted the deep friendship that has kept Girls’ Generation together for 18 years, leaving a warm impression on viewers.
