On December 23, a preview clip from SBS’s variety show Dolsing Fourmen was released via the network’s official YouTube channel. In the video, Hyoyeon spoke candidly about her views on marriage, revealing that the topic has become increasingly real for her.

During the conversation, host Tak Jae-hoon jokingly pointed out that none of the Girls’ Generation members are currently married, suggesting they may feel pressure about who will go first. Hyoyeon agreed, admitting that the members are indeed conscious of one another when it comes to marriage.

“It’s true we’re watching each other,” she said. “I do feel pressure, and I care about it.”

When asked who she thinks will be the first to get married among the members, Hyoyeon answered without hesitation, “At this point, I want to say it’s me. I suddenly want to get married.”

She added humorously that marriage could happen unexpectedly: “You can just fall asleep and wake up married, right?”

Hyoyeon explained that after years of intense idol life, her priorities have naturally evolved.

“I feel like I’ve already done everything I wanted to do,” she said. “If my company had told me, ‘You’re absolutely not allowed to date,’ I probably wouldn’t have wanted to. But when you’re told not to do something, it makes you want to do it more.”

She also reflected on how seeing others get reprimanded for dating ironically made her think, “Oh, so dating is possible.”

The idol also shared a nostalgic and risky story from her Girls’ Generation years, recalling how she once secretly met a boyfriend late at night.

“There was a time I really wanted to go out and meet him,” Hyoyeon said. “I stayed awake until 3 a.m., waited until everyone was asleep, then snuck out around 4 a.m.”

With most places closed at that hour, they met at Han River, a location she joked was a well-known secret meeting spot for celebrities. “There’s a saying that anyone wearing a bucket hat or a cap at Han River at that hour is probably a celebrity usually SM artists,” she laughed.

Hyoyeon’s honest remarks quickly drew attention online, with fans reacting with a mix of surprise, excitement, and support. As Girls’ Generation approaches nearly two decades since debut, discussions about marriage and life beyond idol activities are increasingly welcomed by fans.
