NBC News reported that famous actresses, such as Emma Watson and Scarlett Johansson, have recently become victims of porn advertisements using Deepfake.
According to the report, as AI (artificial intelligence) advances, sexual advertisements that combine the faces of celebrities using Deepfake technology are spreading through various SNS sites. Deepfake is a technology that manipulates faces and sounds.
A porn advertisement that is circulating on social media shows a woman looking like Emma Watson doing sexual acts. This video is believed to have been maliciously created using Deepfake technology, not a real video of Emma Watson.
The media explained, “Hundreds of sexual ads using Emma Watson’s face have been posted on Facebook and Instagram”, adding “Out of a total of 201 ads, 127 featured Emma Watson’s face. The remaining 74 videos composed of the faces of other Hollywood stars”.
They warned, “We must be wary of sexual misuses of Deepfake technology. Not only celebrities but ordinary people can also become victims of such malicious videos”, pointing out that “96% of Deepfake videos are known to be sexual ads.”
