The special reason why Daniel Henney can’t watch “My Name is Kim Sam-soon”, which remains as a legend
Actor Daniel Henney recalled his Korean debut in the popular MBC drama “My Name is Kim Sam-soon”.
Daniel Henney, who appeared in the movie “Cooperation 2: International”, said in a video interview with Wikitree on the afternoon of the 6th, “It was so good to meet Hyun Bin again (after ‘My Name is Sam-soon’) in this movie”.
Daniel Henney and Hyun Bin worked together in the popular MBC drama “My Name is Sam-soon Kim”, which aired in 2005. After 17 years of close friendship, the two reunited through “Cooperation 2: International”.
On this day, Daniel Henney said, “I have been in contact with Hyun Bin for 17 years since ‘Kim Sam-soon.’ Bin is a great actor and a great person.”
When asked if there is any kind of drama he wants to do with Hyun Bin, the actor said, “Hyun Bin can play any role in any kind of work. He’s a very amazing actor and being able to work with him is already an honor. I think it would be so great if we can do a comedy together.”
He smiled and continued, “I hope we can meet in a different way, rather than killing and fighting each other. I really like Hyun Bin, so I just want to do anything with him. I’ve been persuading him to come to the U.S, but I’m not sure if it works.”
Regarding how he has changed compared to 17 years ago, Daniel Henney said, “I’m still the same person but I think I’ve gotten much older and I can speak Korean better”, adding “My acting has improved, too”.
He then confessed, “I think I will run away immediately if I watch my acting in ‘My Lovely Sam Soon’ again. Back then, even if I drank soju until 4-5 a.m, I could still join the filming the next day. But if I do it now, I won’t be able to go to the filming site. Therefore, I’ll stop and say ‘I’m going to sleep now’ after having only a beer or two”, drawing laughter.
“Confidential Assignment 2: International” depicts the unpredictable cooperation investigation of three people, including North Korean detective Im Cheol-ryung (Hyun Bin), South Korean detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin), and the new face – FBI agent Jack (Daniel Henney), who unite again to catch a global criminal organization for their own purposes. The movie will premiere in theaters nationwide on September 7th.
