Taiwanese songwriter reportedly died of cancer after holding a wedding with his 40-year younger lover in the ICU

The famous Taiwanese songwriter who was rumored to be dating a minor 40 years younger than him has passed away.

Several Taiwanese local media outlets reported that songwriter Li Kuncheng passed away on April 8th due to colorectal cancer. 

Accordingly, the famous songwriter was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and hospitalized in September last year. After fighting the disease, he eventually passed away at the age of 67. 

40-year younger lover

In 2013, Li Kuncheng was harshly criticized by the public when he revealed that he was in a romantic relationship with Lin Jingen, the daughter of his friend who is 40 years younger than him and a minor at that time. Despite the fierce backlash, the couple openly showed off their love by posting photos together on SNS and even appearing on Taiwanese variety shows together.

After dating for 10 years, Li Kuncheng and Lin Jingen reportedly registered their marriage when Li Kunchen needed family consent when he was hospitalized for cancer. The two held a simple wedding ceremony in the ICU (intensive care unit) on February 1st.

Li Kuncheng was a famous songwriter who wrote the lyrics for many Taiwanese hit songs. He was also known for owning more than 20,000 Vinyl records.
